The film won two prizes at the Cannes Film Festival (the Cinema Prize of the French National Education System & the FIPRESCI Prize). She also appeared in the film of Francis Ford Coppola Youth Without Youth. She played Yasim Awar in the BBC's 5 episode The Last Enemy miniseries. Marinca appeared as Yasim Anwar on Oliver Hirschbiegel's Five Minutes of Heaven, as well as in the Romanian film Boogie. In the movie Fury (2014), she was Irma she was an German woman who served as Emma's aunt.
