Bella Poarch's birth Filipino parents had her in the Philippines, on February 9, 1997. Her grandmother grew up in streets until she reached three years old, when she was adopted. Her adoptive family is made consisting of an Filipino adoptive mom and white American military veteran. The woman has said she and the adopted brother that she was with were subject to abuse by their adoptive parents from her childhood until she joined the army. After a short time in San Francisco, her family relocated to Texas to aid her father undergo a bypass operation. The physical assault subsided but she was still battling the psychological abuse her father suffered in her home. Poarch became a part of at the United States Navy at age 18. Poarch started her TikTok page in April 2020. Within less than eight months, she'd amassed nearly 40 million followers. Poarch posted numerous videos. But her most enduring moment was her music video to Millie B's famous track Soph Aspin Send. A zoomed-in clip of her rhythmically lip-syncing the tune and jumping around in sync with it, was an extremely viral video which was the top TikTok video. After joining TikTok she started an account on YouTube as well as a Twitter account to capitalize on her popularity. Her fame grew exponentially in December 2020. Poarch's rising popularity was reported to have drawn two of the top professional Esports Teams. FaZe Clan (100 Thieves) and 100 Thieves were interested in hiring her to write the content they wanted for their brands.
